Arthritis is an informal way of referring to joint pain and joint disease. While osteoarthritis is the result of wear & tear (ageing), rheumatoid arthritis is from the immune system attacking your own body tissues. Unlike osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis can affect people of all ages.
Doctors treat arthritis with the objective of reducing joint pain and attempt to interrupt the immune process causing inflammation in joints. Pain management starts with Non steroidal Ant-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) such as Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Diclofenac etc., the long term use of which are bound to cause side effects. Doctors also use drugs to slow the progression of arthritis and save the joints and tissues from permanent damage.
Millions of persons use NSAIDs to manage their pain everyday, and they do so because these drugs perform well. But popping a NSAID pill everyday to manage arthritic pain is not right for everyone, as they are known to produce side effects.
The Ayurvedic name for Arthritis is Aamavata, a condition resulting from improper digestion. Ayurveda has used natural herbs such as Boswellia Serrata for several centuries for their analgesic &anti-inflammatory properties.
Boswellia Serrata also prevents cartilage loss & inhibits the auto-immune process of arthritis. Supplements containing Boswellia Serrata have been clinically proven for their effectiveness.
Easarth is a holistic Ayurveda medicine for management of arthritic pain and inflammation.
