“You can tell the strength of a nation by the woman behind the men”
-Benjamin Disraeli
A world without women will be a world without creators. No goddesses, no mothers, no emotions, no family, and ultimately no society.
Juggling work and parental responsibilities are no mean feat. But women do it without any qualm. Women have navigated their way to success breaking all the barriers on their own. Standing equal, winning their battles.
Who is a healthy woman?
According to WHO Health is “Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.”
But what does it mean to a common woman?
Being healthy constitutes healthy eating habits, regular workouts, and a positive attitude towards life. This is to avoid any disease, prolong life, and live a happy carefree life. But in this hectic life, the chaotic schedules, chores, and everything, health takes a backseat in women’s life.
Here are some simple ways by which you can lead a healthy long life.
1. Look at the diet
Women are the nurturers and primary caregivers. So it is a must that they consume wholesome and nutritious food. Healthy food provides vitamins, minerals, fibers, and nutrients that are important for a healthy lifestyle.
Despite the tremendous growth of women, 29.9% of women suffer from anemia according to WHO in 2019. This is equivalent to half a billion women aged 15-49 years. Foods rich in iron, and foods that help in the absorption of iron should be taken.
It is also necessary to avoid packaged and processed food that is full of sugars, salt, and full of calories. Instead, include fresh fruits and nuts to munch on.
When a woman knows what she eats, she will make her family and friends eat that too. So a healthy woman’s mindset will nourish a healthy progeny and ultimately a healthy society.
2. Move around
Despite the bustling lifestyle, there’s always time for screens. The break time includes watching reels on Instagram or YouTube shorts. With advanced technology lazing around has become the new norm.
But this will lead to many sedentary lifestyle issues in the future. Include 15 minutes of physical activity in your daily routine. It is mandatory for women because it helps to improve overall health and wellness, maintain a healthy weight, and reduce the risk of many diseases.
3. Sleep properly
Women usually sleep less compared to men, this is because women work inside as well as outside. They bear the burden of the whole household and ultimately sleep less. Women must get enough sleep.
The body needs to get 6 hours of sleep daily. Sleep is essential in many aspects of good health like maintaining the immune system, metabolic functions, and regulating healthy weight.
4. Cut the stress
Stress is a mess. When stress isn’t kept on check it leads to many problems in women such as heart disease, obesity, high blood pressure, and diabetes.
Stress is a part of being human. It can’t be completely eradicated but there are ways to control it. Try to keep a positive attitude, make time for interests and hobbies, learn to manage time properly, and have some ‘me’ time.
5. Get a full-body checkup
Once the age 35 has been hit, make a visit to doctor. Not because something might be wrong, it is always good to know the status of your health. When age increases, the health issues in women’s bodies also increase.
Also check for the amount of blood flow, color, pain, frequency of period. This can also be a sign of any underlying abnormality.
When it comes to women, they are the ones who take the least interest in their health. It’s time that they take care of themselves too!
Bottom line
Women are pillars of our society. Without them, it’s hard to imagine the world. They make the world colorful and worth living. We should also make efforts for the women in our lives. Take care of them.
Ladies, for once take care of yourselves too!
