Ayurveda is a 5,000-year-old system of natural healing that has its origins in the Vedic culture of India. Although suppressed during years of foreign occupation, Ayurveda has been enjoying a major resurgence in both its native land and throughout the world. Tibetan medicine and Traditional Chinese Medicine both have their roots in Ayurveda. Early Greek medicine also embraced many concepts originally described in the classical Ayurvedic medical texts dating back several thousands of years.
More than a mere system of treating illness, Ayurveda is a science of life (Ayur = life, Veda = science or knowledge). It offers a body of wisdom designed to help people stay vital while realizing their full human potential. Providing guidelines on ideal daily and seasonal routines, diet, behavior, and the proper use of our senses, Ayurveda reminds us that health is the balanced and dynamic integration between our environment, body, mind, and spirit.
When Lord Hanuman revived the life of Lakshmana with medicinal herbs from the Sanjeevani mountain, the majority of us have brushed it aside as a mythical story. However, in our ancient history, thousands of years back prior to access to modern medicine and allopathy, the solution for diseases and ailments was perhaps medicinal herbs and cures or what is known as Ayurveda. Also please note that Ramayana was written several hundred years back so access to miracle herbs and medicines must have existed which we have lost access to over the years.[/bs_well]
In these days of two-minute instant noodles and modern technology what we have left behind is our rich and ancient cultural heritage including Ayurveda. It is like this. Today when we fall ill we go to the doctor. He prescribes drugs and in a few days, you are up and running. Let me illustrate this in a much simpler way. I am sure we have seen umpteen videos of how vegetables are made to look greener, the tomatoes are riper, and as such. Chemicals are being used to artificially ripen fruits and veggies.
You can assume that commercialism has taken precedence over logical thinking. We need fast cures, fast solutions, fast money, and fast food. However my intention is not to show allopathy in poor light in any which way, the intention of this blog is to show how Ayurveda is an equally important medical stream.
If I had a cold or a cough as a child my grandmother would give me a heady concoction of medicinal herbs. I would be up and running in a few days’ time. In these days as a health drink, we offer products like Complan or Horlicks. Why not give some room space to lesser-known Ayurvedic Products? This is when I came across an Ayurvedic product called Ogestern.
Energy is the foundation of everything in our lives –our relationships, careers, mood, dreams, or happiness. When our energy is hurting, everything in our lives suffers. We really do live half the life we’re capable of. Ogestern Lehyam is a complete herbal preparation formulated to keep you fighting fit all day. The herbs are known to function as
Natural Energizer – Keeps you active all day. Prevents anemia. Fights fatigue activates cells by high oxygen levels.
Improves health – Immune boosters to prevent frequent infections. Ayurvedic preparations consider disease as a part of the whole body rather than the disease itself, the holistic way of treatment. Ogestern is a formulation to improve immunity and energy levels along with all other basic functions.
Some of the wonder herbs in the formulation are:
1. Amla(Emblica officinalis): Rich source of Vitamins, aids in digestion and absorption of minerals, boosts immunity, and improves eyesight and hair growth.
2. Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera): A powerful Anti-oxidant, that fights fatigue and strengthens the body and mind. It is also known to promote good sleep and wellness.
3. Shatavari(Asparagus racemosus): Boosts immunity, a source of anti-oxidant, and improves memory.
A Regular user of Ogestern Mr. Raghuram Muthukrishnan had this to say about Ogestern: Experience of Ogestern
I am of the firm belief that there is absolutely no harm in going back to our roots if that can guarantee us a healthier lifestyle. When we can give allopathy a try, why not insist on going back to our roots, pun intended especially when there are no adverse effects. There is, of course, much to be done from the government side to ensure that Ayurveda takes its rightful place in Indian Medical History and treatment.
Ayurveda comes with its own positive riders. You can reap the benefit of Ayurveda only when you augment the medicine with dietary control and meditation. Secondly, seek an appointment with an Ayurvedic consultant on how you can reap rich health benefits.
